Building A Workplace of Character
As I reflect on what the Character First! program has done for my staff, our extended families and myself, I am delighted and thrilled at the response received from my staff with the program. They have embraced it fully and are now able to recognize demonstrations of exemplary character traits in the work place, not only between one another but also our customers. I am overjoyed to see their individual recognition of each other.
I truly believe that the foundation of success lies within each individual. This program has brought employee participation and group discussions to new levels. I also see more peace and harmony in their interactions. These discussions have also allowed them to seek further into their souls in search of doing what is right and honorable in their work and family life.
I am grateful that the Character First! program is available. In this past year I have found that this curriculum to be the greatest resource I have in dealing with employee recognition, hiring and performance evaluations. With a bit of work and integration into the current systems, the end results have brought about amazing increases in the overall productivity and morale of my employees. I keep thinking about our discussion concerning Joyfulness vs. Self-pity, and realize that life should ALWAYS be about being joyful. Then I think, what if everyone could grasp this concept and wash away the less desirable traits of one’s character, wouldn’t the world be a grand place!
